FITZCARRALDO
Fitzcarraldo es una película dirigida por el director alemán Werner Herzog de 1982, teniendo como protagonistas a los actores Klaus Kinsky y Claudia Cardinale.
Su rodaje fue una locura por los problemas que supusieron rodar en medio de la Amazonía peruana con indígenas locales y por el hecho también de querer rodar una escena de un barco que cruza la montaña sin efectos especiales. A esto hay que añadir el temperamento explosivo del actor Klaus Kinski junto con el director Herzog. Se vivieron momentos de auténtico peligro en el set de rodaje.
Es la historia de un empresario del caucho de finales del siglo XIX que vive obsesionado con la idea de llevar la ópera a la selva, concretamente a la ciudad de Iquitos.
La locura es poética, y la lucha de ese «loco» con el mundo es su contra por un fin bello es enternecedor.
De la misma manera veo yo la figura de mi padre «Lelis» en el sentido de un «loco», «un incomprendido que se lanza al mundo por nobles causas. Puede ser la historia del inmigrante que deja atrás su país y emprende una lucha por encontrar su lugar fuera de su tierra. Pero también estoy seguro de que ese «Don Quijote» que es mi padre también en su aventura tiene un fin concreto, una motivación que aún desconozco y por eso me causa misterio, y por eso vamos a llamarlo por ejemplo » L de Lelis» a ese enigma
